Amazing place to eat sushi and other plates. We tried the camembert tempura and it was amazing. Also the desserts deserve a try, we orderes the fondant pie and the creme brule and both were spectacular

This place was amazing stumbled upon it after a stroll around town and it has the best sushi. The seared hida beef is an obvious must but also other sushi’s are great and is also has other options. Hosts are lovely some English skills but very friendly.

The avocado roll with salmon was good but the California less so. It was nice service tho and clearly the owner does it all himself, luckily it wasn’t busy at 6pm on a Friday. Wasn’t the best sushi I’ve had in Japan but it hit the spot and the price was expected for dinner time sushi.

After a night time stroll in the quiet town where most places are closed, the host was very hospitable and generous. As I ponder on wabi-sabi, stopping here has allowed me to pause. I'm still recovering from jetlag and train transfers, but I loved the jazz. Route 66 is on my travel list, so when I finally do drive down America's Main Street, I'll certainly remember Soshi Dining Nob. Perhaps, with a poem, too. Wouldn't that be a gift!

This was sushi in the best international league with lovely Japanese service and local warm atmosphere. We are sushi-lovers and have had great sushi in many places. This one is highly recommended. Top sushi and great value for money!!

The sushis rolls proposed were original. The fish was not really tasteful but the sushis were ok. The service took quite long but the staff was nice.

Delicious sushi and service. If you are in town it is definitely worth a visit. The rolls are freshly made and were fab!

Love the sushi and the service here. Small place so you need to reserve a table in advance. The sushi is served a little more "western" style here.

Top class sushi at this small sushi restaurant. Sushi rolls are fantastic, including the best I have eaten, the royal amberjack sushi roll, which combines prawn, ell and amberjack with a small poece of jalapeño to give an unforgettable taste!

A very welcoming place with a Chef full of energy. Each piece of sushi look like a piece of art.English Menu with a Vegetarian option.The service was also great and we didn’t wait long.Definitely worth a visit if you are in town!Merci Beaucoup

Sushi was really good. There was only 1 person on staff so we had to wait a bit, but nothing too bad. Recommended for some good sushi and friendly staff.

Small shop run by couple. Their service mind was outstanding. Food is good taste. It is good place for rest after longday walk. Their signature maki was taste really good. Other menu i recommend you to try tomato beer. And avocado roll.

Delicious nigiri and rolls. Very good price range for the quality of the food. The Hida beef nigiri was melt-in-your-mouth tender and so good. Highly recommended!

Great sushi in Takayama. There are 2 option for roll menu, half and full roll. This is good for single or couple dinning. I can try many dishes in small portions.

Sashimi assortment, tuna and avocado tartar and good variety of sushi. The place is small, but very good with excellent service.

A lovely small sushi restaurant run by a husband and wife duo. 2 couples were leaving as we arrived and recommended some dishes to us. We had the tempura camembert, assorted sashimi, a simple Tuna and avocado roll and a raw Hida Beef roll. The stand outs were the camambert and the Hida Beef roll, but the sashimi was super fresh and delicious. Although there was a large party there that kept them quite busy, they were very accommodating and service was lovely.Reservations were not required and on a Friday night just after 7 there was enough room to sit anyone who may have walked in, though there are few seats to begin with so be careful.All in all a fantastic spot that I'd definitely recommend to anybody!

Myself and my girlfriend went here and I would be pretty conservative when it comes to food but this place was really good. Had spicey chicken, tempura camembert, shrimp sushi, green beans, salmon sushi and it was all perfect. Had a fondant to top it all off. Service was quick and it was busy at the time so I was very impressed with that...the couple that run it were very nice and the price of it all was very reasonable. Enjoy :-)

Small restaurant. I speak no Japanese, but the staff were very patient, and tried their best to explain the menu. Whatever we ate, it was fine, the beer was cold, and the place was spotless.

Great sushi and super friendly staff!

The roll are good but not fantastic. If you stay multiple days in takayama this is maybe a restaurant you want to go for but i recommand to maybe watch for a more special place(with sushi hida beef a5)

The sushi here are great. The chef really took care in preparing them. Dont quite understand the US 66 decorations but who cares as long the food is great.

The rating of the place definitely justifies itself. The place is not large, a couple running it - but they are SO LOVEABLE. We much enjoyed being here. The sushi is very Western style , in a good way. Price is cheap. Very tourists oriented - and but Japanese hard core - which gave us exactly what we needed

Delightful place were we ate dinner. Chef full of energy as he served us and about eight other guests at his restaurant. Each table received an order or two and then the next set of guests got theirs. First time for deep fried oysters. Highly recommend

The food here was delicious. Friendly and polite staff. Sushi very good with a wide selection, but also a range of meat and chicken and tasty tempura if sushi is not your thing. Really enjoyed eating here!

A bit disappointing. Not sure if the price was high too. I paid JPY1500 for the meal below. The sashimi was not as good as the ones I ate at the market near ueno park. Maybe because this is a tourist place.

Great sushi. One of my best in Japan. Hito works alone and the place is small. Arrive early. All of this pays itself. Best taste. Good price.
